Turkish NGO constructs 69 electric mechanized boreholes in Ghana

A Turkish Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) known as the Human Development Association International (HUDAI) has taken the lead in constructing electric mechanized boreholes across Ghana over the years.

The organization planned to construct 100 of such water facilities nationwide in the year 2019.

So far, 69 of the projects have been constructed in underserved communities nationwide.

Some of the beneficiary communities are in the Northern, Ashanti, Greater Accra, Eastern and Upper East Regions where residents of deprived settlements drink with animals from the same sources of contaminated water.

The HUDAI's management today (Saturday) September 21 inaugurated four of the projects in the Northern Region.

The projects worth $4000 and $4500 Dollars are located at Zugu, Yendi, Dagbang State and Sang Senior High Schools.

The organization's Northern Zonal Director, Sheikh Mohammed Nazir and his team masterminded the projects successful execution.

The HUDAI's Director of Administration, Mehmet Emin and the national Project Coordinator, Mohammed Awal Yahaya supervised the inaugural ceremony at each location.

Mehmet Emin at the inaugural ceremony reaffirmed the organization's determination to provide accessible and clean water to needy communities.

According to him, the projects at the Yendi, Dagbang State and Sang Senior High Schools could curtail the perennial water shortages in Yendi Township that affected academic excellence.

He urged the school authorities and the students to zealously safeguard the projects.

In an interview on the sidelines, the HUDAI's national Project Coordinator, Mohammed Awwal Yahaya said government alone could not solve the nation's myriad socioeconomic challenges, hence the organization's continuous humanitarian services.

He called for stronger collaboration between the HUDAI and the local assemblies to alleviate the plight of the suffering masses.

Mohammed Awwal commended the Organization's Northern Zonal Director, Sheikh Mohammed Nazir and his team for their remarkable performance.

The HUDAI is in charge of the construction of the National Mosque at Kanda in Accra with other ancillary facilities including a functioning private Senior High School Complex.

The organization has over the years been scouting for and giving scholarship to Ghanaian students to study in Turkey.

Annually, the organization provides hundreds of cattle and food items to majority of Ghanaian Members of Parliament and leaders of needy communities during Ramadan and the Eid Ul Adhar festivities.
