Twenty-nine communities in Gomoa West and East to get water

Agona Swedru, Feb. 6, GNA - Water supply to twenty-nine communities in the Gomoa East and West that has been disconnected for the past eight month= s would resume on Friday, February 11.

This follows the completion of the connection of new pipelines to the main line from Agona Kwanyako Water Works.

The Senior Project Manager of Denys Company for Ghana, Mr Wouter Degezelle made this known when the Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company Mr Kweku Botwe, inspected the progress of work at Agona Swedru. Mr Botwe was happy that about 650 people living in the Gomoa West and East that had been facing water shortage were now going have their water supplies connected.

He commended the Denys Company for the speedy and excellent job done that would enable the Ghana Water Company to supply the communities with water. On Friday, the District Chief Executive for Gomoa East Mr Kingsley Ehunu-Armah, accompanied by Journalists, Officials of the District Assembly= , and some security officers also visited the project. Mr Ehunu-Armah praised the Company for the completion of the work, adding that "almost every week delegations from the affected communities visited my office to find out when the water would be reconnected to the area". Mr Baffour Ofosu-Addae, Manager of the Agona West Municipal of the Company appealed to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to ensure regula= r supply of power to enable them pump water to the consumers.
