Kuntanase (Ash), Feb 22, GNA - Twenty-six communities in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma district would this year benefit from a 47 billion-cedi water project. KFW of Germany and the Government of Ghana are sponsoring the project, which comprises the construction of 71 boreholes, Mr Mark Tachie, the District Project Co-ordinator, told the Ghana News Agency at Kuntanase.

He said the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has also pledged six boreholes to the district, all geared towards improving the standard of living of the people.

Mr Tachie said the district assembly had put in place measures to repair all broken down pipes to enhance the flow of water in all communities.

He appealed to communities to adopt good maintenance culture to prolong the life span of pipes and boreholes since it costs the government so much money in constructing the pipes.
