Mr. Benjamin Armah, Co-coordinating Director of the Heman Lower Denkyira District Assembly, has appealed to beneficiaries of the Disability Common Fund; to use the money for the purpose it was given.
Majority of the beneficiaries applied for the money to pay their children's school fees while others used it to expand their trade or businesses.
Mr. Armah made the appeal when he disbursed Ghc9,000 to 21 disabled persons in the district.
Monies ranging from Ghc300.00 to Ghc1,000 were disturbed to beneficiaries.
Mr. Armah said it is the aim of government to support them to make life worth living, and asked them to make judicious use of the money.
The Coordinating Director also appealed to the district Social Welfare Officer, to sensitize the public on the disability fund, to enable the disabled to apply for the fund.
Mr. Sylvester Ntiamoah Gyampo, district Social Welfare Officer who was assisted by the coordinating director in disbursing the money, said it was given to the first batch of 21 disabled persons, and as and when the subsequent common Fund is available, the rest of the batch will be catered for.
Mr. Andrews Armah, representative of the disabled, thanked government for the gesture, and gave the assurance that the money will be used for the purpose it was given.
