Kumasi, April 6, GNA - Two employees of the Cadbury Ghana Limited and an accomplice were on Tuesday sentenced to three years imprisonment in hard labour each for stealing the company's products. Yellow Kofi and Jacob Yannor, both labourers of Cadbury and Yaw Berko, their accomplice pleaded guilty.

Police Chief Inspector Kuffour Boateng told the court presided over by Mr Ernest Yao Obimpeh that on March 30, this year at about 1330 hours, Yellow and Yannor stole five bags of Richoco Chocolate powdered drinks and gave them to Berko, their bosom friend who had paid them a visit at the workplace to take away.

They, however, run out of luck as the alertness of the other workers led to their arrest.

He said when checks were carried out at the company's store, it was detected that 63 bags of Richoco, 12 cartons of Original Hacks and 14 cartons of "Ahomeka" ginger, all valued at 49.7 million cedis were missing.

The accused admitted stealing the five bags of Richoco powdered drinks but denied any knowledge about the other missing goods.
