Two Chiefs in Nkusukum elevated

Yamoransa (C/R), March 28, GNA - Two Chiefs in the Gyase division of the Nkusukum Traditional Area of the Central Region, have been elevated to divisional status.

Customary rites were performed at the weekend to signify the elevation of Nana Acquah II, chief of Yamoransa Kojokrom and Nana Nsaidoo IV, chief of Apagyahene, respectively.

They swore the oath of allegiance to Okese Essandoh VIII, the Omanhene, who in turn pledged his support for them.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nana Baah IV, Ninfahene of the area admonished chiefs to be firm and fair in judging cases, adding that they should not under any circumstances use one's richness or social status in determining their verdict.

He advised them to respect themselves in order to attract the community's respect adding that they should not expect reward for everything that they will do.

Nana Appredontwe IX, Akwamuhene of Nkusukum advised them to be truthful and also desist from lording their positions over their people. He urged them to be regular at meetings so that they could present problems in their areas to the traditional council.

Nana Acquah expressed gratitude to the Omanhene and the divisional chiefs for the honour done them and pledged their loyalty at all times. He called on chiefs to open themselves up to criticism and to allow the people to point out their mistakes to them.
