Two persons have been hauled before a Circuit Court for facilitating the defilement of a 13 year old girl at Dzorwulu a suburb of Accra.

Prosper Dofia, an 18 year old coconut seller, is accused of holding the hands of the victim for another coconut seller Jospeh Lagbani, 20 years, to defile the 13 year old girl.

Dofia is being held for abetment of crime and Lagbani has been charged with defilement. They have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku remanded them into lawful custody to reappear on December 15.

Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Grace Bandoh said the victim is a Junior High Student who lives with her parents at Dzorwulu, while the two accused persons who work together, reside at Airport in Accra.

On October 27, this year, at about 6:30pm, the victim went to give food to her father, the complainant whose shop is located at Dzorwulu.

Chief Inspector Grace Bandoh said the victim passed through a lettuce farm, a route she had been using every evening.

On reaching the middle of the farm, Lagbani called her but she did not mind him.

Prosecution said later, three other men armed with a knife and Dofia came from a bush behind the victim and they covered her face as they dragged the victim into the bush.

According to the prosecutor, Dofia held her hands while the other men held her legs and Lagbani had sex with her.

When the victim went to school, the following day, prosecution said she informed her class teacher, who also informed the complainant.

A report was made to the Police and the two accused persons were arrested. During police interrogation, the accused persons denied the offence.
