Accra (Greater Accra), 9 Jan.,

Two French Nationals were on Tuesday, January six, 1998, refused entry into Ghana for their indecent behaviour towards some Ghanaian women on board a Swissair flight from Zurich to Accra. Mr.. Jean Ajail and Mr.. Pascal Roger Leray, whose conduct was found to be not conducive to public good in contempt of the country's dignity, were sent back on the same Swissair flight they came on by the immigration officers at Kotoka International Airport. This is contained in a press release issued by the Director of Immigration, Mr.. W. K. Aboah, in Accra today. It said the rude behaviour of the two French nationals was even extended to the first lady who was on the flight. Some of the passengers reported the behaviour of the Frenchmen who were heavily drunk to the authorities at the Airport and when they were questioned by immigration offices, they reacted rudely, and refused to co-operate. "The Ghana Immigration Service hereby reiterates that it will endeavour to execute its functions in such a manner that foreigners, visiting or resident in Ghana, will feel comfortable. "Nonetheless, the service will not take kindly to any foreigner who displays racist and disrespectful tendercies towards Ghanaian citizens." The Ghana Immigration Service cautioned all foreigners to be of good behaviour and entreated heads of foreign communities in Ghana to advise their nationals accordingly. It also called on Ghanaians to continue to accord foreigners the hospitality that "we have been known for."
