Aflao, Sept. 24, GNA - A traditional ruler, Togbe Miradje Dunenyo of Aflao at the weekend donated a set of computer each to the Aflao Traditional Council and the Aflao Police. The equipment is to facilitate the work of the two institutions in data keeping, particularly traditional records and fighting criminal activity.
Togbe Dunenyo, based in Canada as the Executive Director of the Canadian Vocational Training Sponsorship (CAVOTS) a non-profit organization said the donation would help beef up the operational capacity of the two organizations.
He said he was considering donating the same items to other institutions operating in the area in due course. Mr Samuel Sackitey, District Commander of Police, receiving the computer on behalf of the police said crime mainly robbery and domestic violence remained a growing challenge for the police in the area. He said a unit of the police to educate people on domestic violence and the law would soon be established. Togbe Amenya Fiti, V Paramount Chief of Aflao Traditional Area, on his part thanked Togbe Miradje Dunenyo, also know in private life as Peterson Kodzo Miradje for his concern for the development of the area.
