Sekondi, July 14, GNA - Joseph Nketsiah, an unemployed, on Thursday appeared before a Sekondi District Magistrate's Court for allegedly conspiring to commit crime, stealing, impersonation and forgery. In the dock with him was David Breward, a farmer, who is charged with conspiracy to commit crime.

Nketsiah plead guilty and was remanded while Breward who pleaded not guilty was granted 40 million cedis bail.

The accused persons are to re-appear on July 31.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Andam Okyere said in May 2005, the two accused persons conspired and stole two building plots situated at Fijai-Effia Cocoa Industrial Area, the property of Ebusuapanyin Kweku Asante of Ntwaa Family.

He said the accused persons sold the plots that are valued at 30,000,000 cedis for 25,000,000 cedis.

Inspector Andam said Nketsiah, who is not a member of the Ntwaa Family, impersonated as head of the family and forged documents on the land. He said on April 25, Ebusuapanyin Asante went to the Lands Commission to process documents on the building plots but he was informed that the plots had already been registered in the name of the Holy Fire Abundant Life Worship Centre, Takoradi.

Inspector Okyere said Ebusapanyin Asante reported the matter to the police and the accused persons were arrested. He said Nketsiah admitted the offence in his cautioned statement to the Police and mentioned Breward as the person he conspire with to commit the crime.
