Accra, Aug. 3, GNA- Two officials of Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Western Region were arrested on Tuesday for the leakage of examination papers in the ongoing Senior Secondary Schools Certificate Examination (SSSCE). The names of the two were not disclosed, the Public Affairs Office of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) told the press on Tuesday. It said investigations were being conducted in the Axim and other areas in the Western Region.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Tuesday announced that five Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSSCE) papers, which were to have been written on Tuesday, August 3 and Wednesday, August 4, have been rescheduled. A statement signed by Mrs Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, Senior Public Affairs Officer, named the papers as Physics 1, Literature in English 2 and Business Mathematics and Principles of Costing 2, which were to have been written at 1400 hours on Tuesday, August 3. The others are French 1 and 2, which were to have been written on Wednesday, August 4. The statement said new dates would be announced soon. WAEC gave no reasons for the re-scheduling of the papers.
