Tema, Nov. 22, GNA - A cow dealer and a herdsman who were alleged to have stolen three pregnant cows at Odumase near Dodowa, have been granted 40 million cedis bail by the Tema Circuit Court 'A'. Sammy Krawudah and Hammed Pate pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on December 15.

Police Chief Inspector Mary Assunta, told the court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu that on September 29, this year, the chief herdsman of complainant's cattle detected that thieves have stolen three of his pregnant cows valued at over 15 million cedis.

She said the complainant and his Fulani herdsman traced the cows to Asebi, a village near Odumase.

A report was made to the police at Dodowa and the two young men from Asebi were arrested, who mentioned the names of the two accused persons as the real culprits.

Inspector Assunta said Sammy mentioned Hammed as the one who sold the cows to him at 11.5 million cedis, which he in turn sold to another man at Sota near Bator, adding, Hammed denied the allegations and police were still investigating.
