Two persons met their untimely death on Sunday, January 21, 2018, through an accident that occurred on the Takoradi to Aiyinasi highway of the Western Region.
Giving the accounts, Michael Nana Adomako of Ankobra FM told GhanaWeb that, a Mitsubishi 4×4 pick-up with registration number GW 2276-Z with five occupants from Takoradi to Aiyinasi direction in Ellembelle District, reaching a section of the road at New Bakanta, the vehicle veered off the road and went to the bush.
According to Nana Adomako, the driver, Suleman Abubakari died on the spot and the five occupants sustained various degree of injuries and were rushed to Eikwe St. Martins De Pores Hospital for treatment.
Others civilians among were Zonuku Adams, Iddrisu Awudi, Rojah Ayele and Alhassan Yakubu all from Aiyinasi, surprisingly, taking the body to Axim Government Hospital morgue, upon reaching a section of the road at Asemko in Ellembelle District a motorbike crossed the vehicle and the driver lost control of the steering wheel and the vehicle went into a ditch.
“Ayobe Smaila died on the spot while Isahaku Taminu, Iddrisu Kafando Mutari together with the four civilians sustained various degree of injuries and were rushed to Axim Government Hospital for treatment, and one civilian later was referred to Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi for treatment”
The bodies of deceased, Suleman Abubakari and Ayobe Smaila has been deposited at the Axim Government Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.
