Accra, March 10, GNA - Two employees of Cekaren Ventures, a private firm operating a lorry park at the British High Commission in Accra, appeared before a Circuit Court in Accra on Thursday for altering Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) Lorry Park tickets.

Alex Adjetey, a revenue collector and Ofosu Attah, a security officer, were charged with conspiracy and falsification of AMA Market Toll tickets. They pleaded not guilty.

The court admitted them to 50 million cedis bail each to reappear on April 26.

The case of the prosecution is that on February 23, staff of the Revenue Protection Unit of the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) went to the British High Commission Car Park and met the accused persons selling out tickets with the face value of 2,500 cedis, which had been altered to read 5,000 cedis.

During an inspection, the SFO team found out that the accused persons had altered the actual face value to read 5,000 cedis. The accused persons were arrested and during interrogation they admitted altering the tickets, the prosecution said.
