Two drivers – Mumuni Jalil 26, who was driving Opel Astra with registration number GT 3906-W and one named only as Amoah, driver of Opel Cadet registered GW 3459-S – died at the Brong-Ahafo Hospital after their taxis – with four passengers each on board – collided at Benue Nkwata in the Sunyani municipality last Sunday night.

The eight passengers sustained various degrees of injury and have been admitted at the hospital for treatment.

Briefing the media on the accident, the Regional Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Stella Sedame, said five of the victims admitted at the hospital had already been discharged.

According to the MTTD commander, Jalil was travelling from Sunyani to Ntotroso whilst Amoah was from Benue Nkwanta to Sunyani when the two vehicles collided near a police barrier, leaving the drivers unconscious. They died later at the hospital.
