37-year-old widow Rachael Amisiga is crying for assistance to cater for her children who were involved in an accident in April 2018.
13-year-old Esi Fiatsi and 8year old Esther Hodo, both children of Rachael Amisiga were involved in a fatal accident on 29th April 2018 at Kasoa New Market whiles crossing the road to the church.
The eldest child was hit in the head whiles the younger one was hit in her leg by a salon car driven by a woman called Manye. They were rushed to the Winneba hospital and later transferred to the Korle-bu hospital by eyewitnesses.
According to Miss Amissiga, Manye could not come to the hospital out of fear but rather sent her husband to visit the children.
After support to the children for a week, all assistance to the children ceased. “Since then we have been tossed by Manye on nseveral occasions and also not heard from the insurance company” lamented the widow.
The mother of the accident girls alleged that Manye paid money to the police to have them withdraw the case.
Expressing her disappointment, Miss Amisiga said, “she visited the offices of Legal Aid on several occasions, but all efforts to get a lawyer to assist her fight on behalf of her children have proved futile.
“I am also a widow and so does not have much”. She recounted. “The little I saved has been spent on my children medical bills and their upkeep” cried Madam Rachael. Her business capital she claims is gone and now relies on the benevolence of people to survive.
According to her, Esi the eldest child is sent everyday back home when she goes to school because of severe migraine and pains whiles Esther the youngest has severe pains around her waist and hip which makes her limp on her left leg.
Crime Check Foundation is pleading with the general public to come to the aid of this widow and her daughters.
