Accra, Feb.3, GNA - The Ghana Customer Service Advocates (GCSA), a non-profit organisation, on Thursday honoured two distinguished individuals from the public and private sectors for their contributions to good custome= r service delivery in the country.

They include Assistant Commissioner of Police Victor Tandoh (Rtd), Manager of the Greater Accra National Road Safety Commission and Mr Yaw Kumey, Chief Executive Officer of Y Kumey Group of Companies. The ceremony is the maiden edition of GCSA Awards launched in November last year to celebrate excellence and professionalism in customer and publi= c service delivery.

ACP Tandoh was given a Citation that read 93You started policing in 1= 969 with the spirit of selflessness, dedication and excellence in public servic= e delivery, for this we honour you with the Public Star Awards 2010". Mr Yaw Kumey also received a Citation that read 93For your outstandin= g contribution, interest and commitment to the development of customer servic= e delivery in Ghana, we hereby honour you with the first GCSA Ambassador Awards".

Mr Hector Wulff, Founder of the Awards Scheme, said management had presented awards to over 30 organisations including KRIF Ghana Limited, Cit= y Lights Ghana Limited, Holy Trinity SPA and Health Farm, NDK Financial Service, Ashanti Home Touch and RLG Communications. He noted that the awards team had paid courtesy calls on various organisations to present their certificates of leadership and excellence to them at their business premises. "This style of awarding, I must say, is a novelty and the first time that business awards are presented and delivered door to door at the work place of award winners, encouraging a sense of belonging and good will amon= g staffs of these organisations," he added.

He said the Customer Service Ambassador Awards was the highest individual honours in the GCSA categories. The honourees commended the organisers for putting together the awards to recognise people who promoted customer service delivery in the country. They urged the youth not to undermine their potentials, adding that they should be determined in all their endeavours. They also lauded the contribution of the media in the socio-economic development of the nation.
