The Authorities of the Eagle Star Refugees Transit Camp, at the Elubo border last Wednesday, picked up two West African nationals around the camp on suspicion that they are spies.

The names of the suspects who are Cameroonians and Togolese have been withheld for security reasons.

Mr Jacob Bogoro, National Disaster Management Organisation Officer at the Camp, made this known to the Ghana News Agency at Half Assini after they handed over the suspects to the Ghana Police Service for further investigations.

According to Mr Bogoro on April 4, some of the refugees saw the two suspects around the camp and alerted the authorities.

He said during the interrogations, they claimed to be Ivoirians however their accents indicated otherwise.

Mr Bogoro said a search on them revealed their nationalities.

He said the management of the camp is vigilant because some unknown assailants set ablaze a tent at the facility last Week that resulted in the death of one Mr Kone Adams.

Mr Adams, an Ivorian refugee died shortly on admission at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi following the severe burns he sustained.**
