Mankranso (Ash), July 20, GNA - The Mankranso Magistrate's court has bonded two persons who appeared before it on an assault case to be of good behaviour for two years.

Kwadwo Boamah, 18, an auto mechanic and Kwadwo Sianka, 19, trader, who pleaded guilty to the charge, will serve 12 months in prison or pay 10 million cedis each in fines.

The court also ordered the two to compensate the complainant with 500,000 cedis.

Police Inspector Abraham Agyei-Mensah told the court, presided over by Mr Frank Owusu-Afriyie, that Boamah and Sianka had been teasing Agya Kwame Boakye, the complainant that he was a "dog". The complainant, who was disgusted by those taunts, used a gong-gong beater to register his displeasure of being called by that name.

Inspector Agyeo-Mensah said on June 28, this year, the accused persons who heard the announcement ignored it and still called the complainant a "dog", but when he approached them to warn them, they pounced on him and assaulted him. A report was made to the Mankranso police who issued a medical form to the complainant to the hospital. Based on the medical report, the accused persons were arrested and charged with the offence.
