The Ghana Police Service has interdicted two policemen for allegedly extorting money from a motor pillion rider in Accra on July 22, 2024.
Their interdiction was effective August 9, 2024.
According to a police statement, the two, Lance Corporal Philimon Agbevem and Lance Corporal Peter Gbadagbo, were immediately subjected to strict police investigations when the allegations by the pillion rider, which went viral, got the attention of the police leadership.
A post on the social media handles of the police said the two officers are currently assisting with the investigation.
"We would like to assure the public that they will be put through the due process of the law," the statement added.
