Akim Swedru, April 14, GNA - Two shop porters who conspired to steal 19 million cedis belonging to their employer had been sentenced to seven years imprisonment each by the Akim Swedru Circuit court. The two, Kofi Teye, 22 and Kwame Okumaning, 23, were convicted on their own plea.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Agyemang Reindorf told the court that the convicts were porters in the General Merchandise shop owned by Mad Dora Prah.

On January 25 the complainant left the shop and entrusted it into the hands of the convicts. When she returned that found that the money was missing she suspected the convicts. She searched them and found 3.3 million cedis on them.
