Tema, Sept. 10, GNA - The Tema Community One Police have arrested two students for allegedly attacking the Managing Director of Nick Hotel, Mr Kofi Danso Agyei with a loaded pistol on Friday.

The two, whose names are being withheld, are brothers and students of the University of Ghana, Legon and Aggrey Memorial secondary school, Cape Coast. A police source told the GNA that Mr Agyei received a telephone call at his hotel in Community Six during which the caller proposed to do business with him.

The source said Mr Agyei became suspicious, so he scheduled a meeting with the caller at his Hotel for Friday evening and alerted the Police. Mr Agyei was late for the appointment but eventually arrived at about 1900 hours.

As soon as he parked and opened his car door, the two brothers rushed on him and one of them pointed a pistol at him. The police said Mr Agyei hit the hand of the one holding the pistol and it fell down but he quickly picked it up again.

The other brother took to his heels and Mr Agyei raised the alarm and his watchman and the police, who had taken cover, went to his assistance. The police took the pistol from the attacker and arrested him.

The other brother was also arrested. Both are in Police custody while investigations continue.
