Juaso (Ash), Oct. 26, GNA - Two final-year students of the Agogo State Secondary School in the Asante-Akim North District of Ashanti, were on Tuesday put before the Juaso circuit court for allegedly murdering another student over a mattress.

Samuel Ofosu, 20, and Eric Amoah, 18, whose pleas were not taken, were remanded to re-appear on October 28.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) A S Haruna told the court presided over by Mr Jacob B. Boon that the accused persons and Derrick Quainoo, the deceased, were all students of the Agogo State Secondary School and shared the same dormitory.

He said on October 1, this year, a struggle ensued between the deceased and the accused persons, which resulted into a fight. ASP Haruna said in the course of the fight, the deceased's head hit a wall and was rushed to the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital where he was treated and discharged.

He said on October 12, however, the deceased's condition deteriorated and was sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) but he died on October 16 whilst still on admission. The prosecution said a report was made to the Agogo Police who identified and arrested the accused persons.
