The police have arrested two suspected robbers who shot and killed their victim at Akwatialine in Kumasi.

Abdul Aziz Osman and Haruna Farouk, together with two others, now on the run, were said to have committed the crime on Boxing Day.

They were on Wednesday put before a Kumasi Circuit Court and were ordered to be held in prison custody.

They are facing charges of conspiracy, robbery and murder.

Their pleas were not taken and they were directed to reappear on Wednesday, January 30.

Police Inspector Gulliver Tenkorang told the court presided over by Mr Justice William Boampong that the two and their accomplices armed with locally manufactured pistols and clubs, on December 26, last year, at dawn, imposed a reign of terror on Akwatialine as they attacked and robbed anybody on sight.

They also broke into kiosks and looted them of their contents. One of their victims, Ibrahim Fuseini, was shot in the head and his cellular phone and unspecified amount of money seized.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) .

Osman was spotted by some of the victims, a day after the crime, and he was arrested and handed over to the police.

The prosecution said a locally manufactured pistol was found on him during a search.

Farouk was later apprehended.
