Bogoso(W/R), March 09, GNA - Two suspects are helping the Bogoso Police in their investigations into an alleged abduction of a 20-year-old trader, Efua Amoakowaa of Bawdie near Wassa-Akropong in the Western Region.

The suspects who were arrested last Saturday, March 4 are, Kwame Nuamah also known as Lafuta a driver, and Kwaku Ampong a dumper truck operator.

Police sources told the Ghana News Agency that at about 1600 hours on February 24 this year, Nuamah asked Amoakowaa to accompany him to Ayanfuri and she obliged.

The source said on reaching Ayanfuri, Nuamah whispered into the ear of Ampong who was sitting in the front seat and the car sped off towards Bibiani.

It said Amoakowaa demanded to know where they were going but they rolled up the glasses and sensing danger, she asked Nuamah to stop but he refused and when they reached a spot about one kilometre to Nkwantanu on the Ayanfuri-Bibiani road the car slowed down due to the deplorable nature of the road.

The source said Amoakowaa jumped out of the moving car and took to her heels towards Ayanfuri when a Good Samaritan rescued her and sent her to Bawdie.

It said Amoakowaa was treated at the Wassa-Akropong Government hospital for injuries she received on the arm and shoulders after which a report was made to the police.

The source said the suspects had been released on bail while investigations continued. 09 March 06
