Two wanted by Police over murder

The Agona Swedru District Police Command has mounted a search for two friends who allegedly conspired to kill Mr Michael Quainoo, mason at Ankyease, a suburb of Agona Swedru.

The prime suspect Kofi Ayigbe and his accomplice only mentioned as Wiper are currently on the run after stabbing Mr Quainoo also known as Paa Kwao with a pair of cutting seizers.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in- charge of Agona Swedru District Command, Pail Wesley Baah, made this known to the media at Swedru in the Agona West Municipality.

He said the Police have declared the two suspects wanted and appealed to the general public to assist in arresting them.

According to DSP Baah, the Police have scanty information about the brawl between the deceased and two suspects who were best play-mates.

He said the police were doing everything possible to unravel any mystery behind the killing of Mr Quainoo, aged 30.

DSP Baah said on Tuesday 15th September, 2015 at about 1630 hours, a brawl ensued among the two suspects and the deceased and in the process Kofi Ayigbe picked a pair of Scissors from a nearby shoe mender’s shop and stabbed Mr Quanioo.

According to the Agona Swedru District Police Commander, earlier the deceased was alleged to have hit the head of the Ayigbe with a piece of fire wood that caused deep cut on the head.

DSP Baah said when the suspect saw that blood was oozing from his head he (Kofi Ayigbe), went and picked the Scissors and stabbed him.

The District Police Commander said the Mr Quanioo died soon on arrival at the Agona Swedru Government Hospital.

He said the body has been deposited at the Agona Swedru Government Morgue for autopsy while police investigation continues.
