Kumawu, (Ash), July 08, GNA - The Kumawu circuit court has sentenced a 38-year-old farmer to two years imprisonment for stealing two aluminium cooking pots and roasted goat meat valued at 200,000 cedis at Seniagya in the Sekyere East district.

Kwasi Nyamaah, who pleaded guilty to the charge, will pay the cost of the items after serving the jail term.

Police Inspector Gabriel Dzitornu of the Seniagya police station, prosecuting, told the court, presided over by Mr Frank Owusu-Afriyie that on June 28, this year, Madam Christiana Agyeman, left the cooking pots and some goat meat in the kitchen and went to bed. He said the next morning the items were nowhere to be found and so she informed the assemblyman of the town, who organized some people to search the room of the accused.

He said the pots and some bones were discovered in the room. Inspector Dzitornu said the accused was therefore, arrested and handed over to the Seniagya police and upon investigations charged him with the offence.
