Students who ply the route leading the Commonwealth Hall to the Basket Market on the University of Ghana campus are demanding the immediate clearance of the bush along the path.
The students are saying that the bushy nature of the path is posing a threat to their life as they have become susceptible to reptiles.
Persons who use that route, mostly students, resorted to using that route after the initial one was been earmarked for the construction of the Commonwealth Hall annex.
In an interview with some students who were worried about the situation, they called on the relevant authorities to, as a matter of urgency, work on clearing the bush along the path.
“The situation here is not good at all and we need the authorities to help us. The place is very bushy and students do pass here. When you are passing here in the evening, anything at all can happen to you including an attack from a reptile,” a student told UniversNews.
Another student, who identified himself as Mensah, told UniversNews that “this place has being like this since last semester. Scorpions breed around here, making this place dangerous for those of us usually use here. We would like the authorities to order for the place to be cleared.”
UniversNews is working on getting a response from authorities.
