Management of the University of Ghana today met with the executive of the Students Representative Council (SRC).
The meeting, which was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, brought to the fore a few areas of concern among the student front which were tabled and discussed amicably.
Some of the issues bordered on the use of generators during power outages, efficiency in the shuttle services and safety and security.
While advising the students to consider dialoguing as a preferred option to put their concerns across, the Vice-Chancellor advised the student leaders to ensure they exhaust all processes available to them.
The Vice-Chancellor assured the students that their welfare was paramount, and management will ensure students have a conducive environment to enhance their student life and experience at the University of Ghana.
The meeting outlined a number of measures and actions to ensure that the issues raised are dealt with expeditiously.
Present at the meeting were Prof. Kwame Offei, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Academic & Student Affairs, Mrs. Mercy Haizel-Ashia, Registrar, Prof. Godfred Bokpin, Dean of Student Affairs, Mrs. Stella A. Amoa, Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Charles Kofinti, Director, Physical Development & Municipal Services and Mr. S. Odame, Ag. Director, Finance.
From the SRC front were the President of the SRC, Mr. Sylvester Owusu Amoako and other members of the SRC Executive, and Presidents of the JCRs.
