The Electoral Commission of the Students Representative Council at the University of Ghana has released the names of some seven persons who have submitted their application to contest for the office of Electoral Commissioner.
The seven applicants will be vetted by a seven-member panel, which will choose the final three persons for the office.
The three will be responsible for the conduct of the forthcoming SRC election.
The seven electoral commissioner applicants are Ernest Mensah Amponsah, Sharon Pinsung Dokorugu, Gabriel Ahiamata, Emmanuel Kofi Adika, Derrick Asante, Victoria Antwi, and Benjamin Tsormey. Harlley Kpeka Anthony, Azure Akolbire Daniel, Prince Semekor Agboyibor, George Merkel Abuah, Joshua Asare, Richard Kwasi Anim, and Eva Ekuah Eshun are the members of the SRC vetting panel. The 2020 UG SRC Elections is expected to be in April.
It will look for a successor for the Isaac Agyemang-led administration. Already, the posters of over 15 aspirants for various SRC offices have come up.
