UG: POSSA to hold ‘Time With NSS’ on February 19

The Political Science Students Association (POSSA) of the University of Ghana is set to hold an event geared towards educating final year students on National Service.

The event which is dubbed “Time With NSS” would be bringing the National Service Secretariat closer to final year students to enlighten them about all the necessary processes involved in the application process and thereafter.

Most often, final year students fall victim to con men who promise them of placement of their own choice.

It is in this light that the executive body of POSSA has resolved to assist students to gain first-hand knowledge to ensure they do not fall victims.

Aside from talks about National Service, there would also be a representative from Access Bank to help students with bank account opening as well as E-zwich card application.

Also, a representative from the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) would join the conversation to throw more light on why students must be registered members of the scheme.

Students who wish to register for their TIN number, as well as SSNIT Card, must ensure they have the details of the following requirements

1. A coloured copy of any national ID card ie voters, Ghana Card, Passport, etc 2. Know their residential address, district, and place of birth, parents contact details, etc All registrations come at a zero cost to participants. The executive body of POSSA thus admonishes all final year students to make it a point to attend this all-important event.
