The Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Drolor Bosoo Adamtey I, has charged the new leadership of the university’s alumni association to discharge their duties in a way that will not only strengthen the alumni base of the school but also bring honour to the university.

Drolor Bosoo Adamtey I gave the charge when he chaired the UPSA Alumni Dinner and Handing Over ceremony held on Saturday, 15 December 2018.

The event, which was attended by past students of the university as well as the management and the teaching faculty, also saw in attendance former Deputy Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson, who delivered the keynote address for the evening.

Mr Forson called on the alumni not to forget their alma mater and put efforts together to give back to their school.

He encouraged the new leadership to also call on past students, both in and out of government, to support any worthy cause they may embark upon.

Reggae and dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy performed on the night and was honoured for his contribution to the entertainment industry.

Other awardees on the night include Drolor Bosoo Adamtey I, for being the first Chancellor of UPSA, and Mr Forson, for his contribution to Ghana’s financial administration and governance.

Outgone President of the Alumni Association, Dr John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, in his handing over speech, encouraged the new leadership to be relentless in their efforts to continue the numerous projects started by his administration, including the annual GHS20,000 contribution to the Vice-Chancellor’s Endowment Fund and the association’s hostel project.

For his part, the new president of the UPSA Alumni Association, Mounkeilla Abdullai promised that his team will continue in the work done by their predecessors while charting new paths that will leave legacies for the future generation.
