USA doctors ends free medical care at Nsawam

Nsawam, July 25, GNA - The 20-member medical team from the United States of America (USA), which arrived in the country this month have completed giving free medical care to the people in four communities in the Eastern Region.

The team, which is the guest of the Liberty Church of Nsawam is made up of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and evangelists from the Meadow Lake Baptist Church, Conway Arkansas.

They gave free medical care to 1,840 people from Adeiso, Ofadaah, Dego and Nsawam.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after a short send-off ceremony at Nsawam on Friday, Pastor Cliff Pennington, leader of the team said they gave free diagnosis of malaria and eye problems to the communities and Church members.

He said apart from the free medical care, his team preached the gospel and imparted the knowledge of Christ to about 2,000 people to accept Jesus as their Saviour.

Pastor Pennington congratulated Pastor Kingsley Anderson, in-charge of the Baptist Church of Nsawam and Deacon Emmanuel Kini for organising the exercise and bringing it to a successful end.

He prayed for the sustenance of the co-operation between Ghana and the US.

Pastor Kingsley Anderson, on behalf of the Church members expressed appreciation to Pastor Pennington and his team for their kind gesture and called on others to emulate them.
