The United States of America has held a higher student fair for over 25 colleges and universities in order to recruit students to study various courses in colleges and universities in the United States.
Two of the institutions, Mcnee state University and San Mateo Colleges of Silicon Valley have specifically announced scholarships that will be available to qualified students who will attend the fair.
The Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Analysis Marcus Jadotte who graced the occasion explained that the fair is purposely to afford Ghanaian students the opportunity to acquire graduate and post graduate courses from colleges and other universities in America.
Marcus Jadotte also explained that the fair is as a result of the good ties between the two countries and also the U S government works to increase the number of students from Sub- Saharan Africa who study in the United States.
The Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Tertiary, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa also explained of government’s readiness to support students who gains admission into the tertiary institutions in the United States.
According to Okudzeto Ablakwa,it is also the responsibility of parents and guardians to provide higher education for the teeming youth but government will do all it can to support students for higher education because the workforce helps in the development of the country.
