The Public Relations Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Godwin Okuma Nyame has disclosed that there is no CCTV camera at the Rattray Park to track footage of thieves involved in the missing dancing fountain’s USB Drive.

The USB Drive which contains the operating software of the fountain has been missing since July 22, 2017.

The IT Manager Carlos Sakyi Ntow and Manager of the facility, Kwame Asamoah Mensah were ‘arrested’ by the police to assist in investigations following the theft.

Speaking on Ultimate Breakfast Show hosted by Lantam Papanko, he said the CCTV camera which would have aided in the arrest of the culprits is not functioning.

He indicated that the park is still opened to the public and that investigations have just begun expressing worry over the lack of CCTV camera at the facility.

‘We had information last month that the USB Drive and DVD player at the Control room were missing so the Assembly reported the case to the police.

‘Apart from that every equipment at the facility is working….So its true, as I speak now, the fountain at the Rattray Park is not working but the park is still operational so anybody who would like to go there for recreational activity can go there… There is no CCTV camera at the park now, the one there is not functioning, its supposed to be a component of the park but we don’t have it, there has been some challenge,’ he said.

Mr Nyame expressed hope that the thieves are arrested.

Ultimatefmonline.com sources at the facility said management would have to design a new software if the USB Drive is not found.
