Accra, March 23, GNA - Some members of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) on Wednesday morning blocked the Nogouchi Road for about 30 minutes to protest against the sale of car stickers to its members.

The Nogouchi Road is a major road that leads to the South Legon Residential Area and also serves as a link-road to the main Aburi - Madina - Accra Road.

In an interview with GNA, some of the UTAG members said they had noticed that the University Security Service did not recognise the use of the University of Ghana Staff Identity Cards at the various entry points of the University.

They asserted since the University Authorities had issued them with ID cards the University Security Service should accord them due recognition.

They asked whether they should be made to pay for going to their workplaces adding many organisations supplied identity cars and car stickers to their staff free of charge.

UTAG planned to withdraw their service last Monday in protest but it was not effective as some Lecturers went about their normal duties.
