Wa, July 7, GNA - The Convention People's Party (CPP) would be day dreaming about wining the presidential seat with only one member in Parliament, a survey has revealed.

The respondents in the Upper East Region told members of the Youth for Nduom 2012 Exploratory Committee touring the area that the party must concern itself with the reorganization of its grassroots structures to make it attractive.

The Youth for Nduom 2012 Exploration Committee are in the region to find out from people the viability of Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom's candidature for presidency in the 2012 elections.

The CPP, they noted, should also be more concerned about supporting some of its members to become district assembly members to work with the grassroots structures to win more parliamentarians for the party.

They said for now the CPP was not on the ground and it would be useless fighting to become the only one representative in Parliament.

"The CPP needs to win more parliamentary seats before it thinks of winning the presidential slot," most respondents stated.

They, therefore, advised the leadership of the party to look for dedicated and committed persons to take up positions at the ward, zonal, constituency and regional levels towards making the party a household word.

Some said the CPP regional executive were only active in radio discussions but not on the ground.

Others suggested that the CPP and the People National Convention (PNC) resolve their differences and merge as one strong and vibrant political party to encourage Ghanaians to vote for it in the 2012 elections.

The Party must be courageous to poach people from other political parties to help in its reorganization efforts, the respondents advised. Mr. Richard Nii Amarh, Spokesperson for the Committee, said the group was visiting Wa and Tumu to hear from the people whether they thought Dr. Nduom would be a better president or not.

They are also asking why he lost the 2008 election and what they should do to help him win the 2012 election.

He advised the people to cooperate with the team and feel free to give honest and sincere views.

The group have already visited the Western, Ashanti, Brong-Ahafo, Central and Upper West Regions and would be on its way to the Upper East Region from Tumu.
