Unasco workers rewarded

Techiman (B/A) Feb. 4 GNA- Thirty-Five deserving workers with long service and customers of Unasco Company Limited, a dealer in Latex Foam products at Techiman were at the weekend honoured by the company. Twenty-three of the workers received a cash award of 200,000 cedis each for their hard work whilst each of 10 long serving employees and two customers took home 200,000 cedis and a certificate of merit.

The long serving workers were Mr. Stephen Acheampong, Assistant Director, Mr. Frank Kwabena Ameyaw, Accountant, Mr. Victor Opoku Antwi, Sales Manager, Mr. Joe Remigius, Wholesale Manager, Madam Halima Serwaah of the printing section, Mr. Emmanuel Kwadwo, Osofo Okoh Yeboah, Mr Emmanuel Er-Wager and Mr Sammy Young.

Mr. Owusu Agyeman of Nkoranza and Mr Kwasi Asante of Wenchi districts respectively, received awards as the most reliable customers. Speaking at the function, Mr. Unas Owusu, Managing Director of the company expressed his gratitude to the workers for their hard work, dedication and commitment to the progress of the company.

He said the company had expanded its operations to Wa, Sampa, Atebubu, Sefwi-Wiawso, Assin Fosu and Tamale and called on the workers to be security conscious to enhance the growth of the company. Mr. Ahmed Suleman Twi, Third National Best Farmer in the year 2000 noted that the company was honouring the deserving workers for their devotion to duty and truthfulness.

He advised workers of the company against using dubious means to cheat the company, since that was against Islamic teachings. Maulvi Yusuf Bin Salih, Brong Ahafo Regional Missionary in-charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, who presided, called on the workers to lead good morals and urged parents to inculcate in their children good moral values and truth.

Mr. Frank Kwabena Ameyaw, Accountant and Mr. Victor Opoku Antwi, Sales Manager on behalf of the workers thanked Mr. Owusu and wife for honouring them and pledged to work harder than before to justify the confidence reposed in them.
