The Ghana Railway Development Authority on Sunday dawn demolished some unauthorised structures on its land at CMB within the Accra Central business district.
The exercise was to pave the way for a private commercial development of the area.
Traders who had taken over the land were cooperative but lamented the notice for the evacuation was short.
” We had already been notified about the exercise; that was last year but we didn’t know it was going to be this sudden,” one trader told TV3.
Over hundred structures in the area were affected.
