The inhabitants of Atuam, near Fumso Ketewa at New Edubiase in the Adansi District of Ashanti, are yet to come to terms with the gruesome murder of two brothers by their uncle in the early hours of yesterday.

Full of fury, Ebenezer Narh is said to have chased the two brothers, Daniel and David Tetteh, both in their late 20s with a sharp machete and butchered them to death.

The Unit Committee Chairman of the area, Peter Kutin, confirmed the incident to the Ghanaian Times and said that the suspect is an ex-convict, who was released less than two months ago.

Throwing more light on the incident, the unit committee chairman, said the suspect, affectionately called Eben, had a confrontation with his grandfather, Opanin Narh, and beat him up.

On hearing that, the two brothers then at Atuam, rushed to the scene where they found the suspect wielding a machete and daring anyone to get closer

The suspect allegedly grew wild on seeing the two brothers nearing him and attempted attacking them, but some of the neighbours intervened.

According to Mr Kutin, the two brothers having felt threatened left for their cottage, but unknown to the neighbours, the suspect followed them to the village where he butchered them to death.

Narh, after the grisly act, fled the village.

As at the time of filing this report, the two bodies were yet to be collected by the police, though, according to Mr. Kutin, a report had been made to the Police.
