Kumasi, Dec 24, GNA - Mr Saeed Owusu-Brobbey, Ashanti Regional Manager of the National Board for Small-Scale Industries (NBSSI), has appealed to entrepreneurs to constantly research into new ways of facilitating the growth of their businesses.

"It will be difficult for the nation to reach a middle income status by 2010 if small-scale entrepreneurs do not strive to be resourceful".

He was addressing participants at a one-day workshop for members of the Ashanti Region branch of the association of Small-Scale Industries (ASSI) in Kumasi on Wednesday.

It was organised by ASSI and sponsored by the Danish Development Association (DANIDA) for 45 members of the association drawn from the 24 sector associations under ASSI.

The workshop was aimed at prompting the members to continuously seek technological knowledge and adhere to business regulations. Mr Owusu-Brobbey advised the private sector to contribute to the Golden Age of Business by taking advantage of the many opportunities and government interventions created to augment their businesses. Mr Kwame Buor, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of ASSI, appealed the sector associations to be committed to the activities of the parent association so as not to create a conflict of interest that could prove inimical to the advancement of the association.

He urged the members to endeavour to source funds from the Business Sector Advocacy Challenge (BUSAC) Fund under DANIDA to bring urgency and efficiency into their businesses.
