Unemployed graduates decline to hit the streets as planned

After calls from some members of the Unemployed Graduates Association of Ghana (UGAG) on the leadership of the association to embark on a nationwide demonstration to register their displeasure on how the government is tackling the issue of unemployment in the country, the leadership says it would not be able to carry out on the demonstration because the Police is refusing to grant them permit.

Government’s strives in tackling the huge unemployment rate in the country seems not to be appreciated by the leadership and members of the Unemployed Graduates Association of Ghana, UGAG.

Addressing the media, the leadership of UGAG accused the police and government of conniving and denying them the opportunity to register their frustration through a nationwide demonstration.

Although government has adopted the proposal of the association by establishing a graduate Business support scheme, the leadership of UGAG says they are not pleased with its implementation.

Meanwhile the Operations Officer of the association has accused the Minister of Employment and Social Welfare, Moses Asaga of attempting to lure executives of the association by offering them jobs in order to abandon their involvement with UGAG.

The Unemployed Graduates Association of Ghana, UGAG is a non-partisan organization which seeks to promote the well-being of all unemployed graduates in the country.
