An Accra Circuit Court on Friday remanded one Korley Tagoe, unemployed for having in his possession 14 wraps of narcotic drugs without lawful authority.

Korley pleaded not guilty to the charge but was remanded by the court to reappear on September 29, for trial.

Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector B. O Yeboah told the court that the complainants are policemen stationed at the Accra Regional Police Headquarters.

He said on September 9, the Alpha Swat 3 team was on patrol at Ablekuma and its environs, when they spotted the accused person at CP Junction riding an unregistered motor bike.

The prosecution said the demeanour of Korley made the police suspicious of him and stopped him. A search conducted on him revealed 14 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

Police Chief Inspector, Yeboah said the accused person was arrested to the station for investigations.

He said upon interrogation, Korley told the police that someone had sent him to buy the substance but failed to mention the name of the sender.

According to the prosecution, he also led the police to where he was arrested but could not lead them to the sender’s house.
