Nkoranza (B/A), Aug. 15, GNA -An unidentified man in his sixties, believed to be a Dagaare, who was sent to the Nkoranza Saint Theresa's Hospital for treatment by the Nkoranza District Assembly over the weekend, died on Sunday.
The man was allegedly found lying unconscious in an open space near the Nkoranza Central Market for three days, and when information regarding the plight of the old man was reported to some members of the district assembly the assembly quickly arranged for the man to be sent to the hospital.
Messrs Emmanuel Adanortey Ocansey, Nkoranza District Assistant of Social Welfare and Mr Kyere Boateng, a Principal Executive Officer of the District Assembly told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nkoranza that, the passers-by claimed that they heard the man speaking Dagaare dialect, before he went into comma.
The other identification clue of the deceased, described as a puppet, the two officers added was that he wore a green trouser plus a coffee colour shirt, about five-and-a-half feet tall, dark in complexion with grey hair and appealed to the general public, especially of the Dagaare tribe, who has missed an aged man relative within the past few weeks to contact the Nkoranza police and the district assembly for identification and collection of the dead body.
After waiting for sometime without any response from the appeal, the District Environmental Health Division would be compelled to arrange for the burial of the deceased, according to Mr Daniel Agyarko, the District Officer.
