University College Of Catholic relocates campus

Accra, Jan. 19, GNA - The President of the University College of Catholic Institute of Business and Technology ((CIBT), Monsignor Jonathan Thomas Ankrah, announced on Tuesday that the College which was located at Tantra Hills has been relocated to Adabraka section of Accra. He said it was now situated where the Catholic Social Advance Institut= e used to be located.

Monsignor Ankrah who was speaking at a Press briefing on the College campus, said CIBT which had been affiliated to the University of Ghana Legon, and was recognized by the National Accreditation Board, also had mos= t of its part-time lecturers coming from Legon.

He cited the payment of exorbitant rental fees at Tantra Hills as the reason for relocating to Adabraka.

He said the institution had been refurbished and updated to uplift it to a standard befitting a University. He explained during question time that the first semester began on October 4, 2010 and had a student population of 401 who were pursuing various courses in Business Administration, Computer Science and Public Sector Administration.

Monsignor Ankrah reiterated that in future there would be an introduction of a degree course in Procurement, since there were more vacan= t lecture halls and spaces for development. He later conducted pressmen round the various lecture rooms, library, the computer Science laboratory, Seminar Rooms, Graduation Hall, chapel and the main administration block. The College currently has 20 permanent lectures with 25 part-time lectures. GNA
