Winneba(C/R), 4 June The Principal of the University College of Education at Winneba (UCEW), Professor N. K. Pecku, has emphasized that dialogue is the best way of solving institutional problems. He therefore appealed to the leadership of Student Representative Councils (SRC) of the universities to always use dialogue to resolve matters between them and their institutional authorities. Professor Pecku gave the advice when speaking at a ceremony at which the outgoing executives of UCEW handed over the college's SRC administration to a new executive committee. He commended the outgoing officers for their high degree of maturity and hard work which helped them to chalk a lot of successes during their term of office. In his address, Mr Saai Abdul-Razak, the outgoing SRC president, called on the university authorities to expedite action on the implementation of the proposed four-year degree programme for the college. He also called on the students and the lecturers to cultivate a deeper sense of belonging and respect for each other to ensure effective teaching and learning. Mr Abdul-Razak advised the incoming executives to maintain a high degree of restraint in the face of all odds so that they can use the mandate given them by the students to attain greater achievements. Mr A. K. Ocansey, the new SRC president, assured the university authorities that the new executives will continue with the good work of the out-going officers.
