University of Botswana promotes Ghanaian lecturer

University of Botswana (UB) has promoted two senior lecturers to associate professors and five to senior lecturers.

A news release from the UB says the two associate professors are Dr Emmanuel Kwabena Quansah and Dr Charles Manga Fombad from the law department.

Quansah joined the UB in 1989 as a lecturer from the University of Calabar in Nigeria, and was promoted to senior lecturer in 1993.

He holds an LLB and LLM from the University of London and an LLD degree from the University of South Africa.

He is a Barrister of Gray?s Inn in England, a Barrister and Solicitor of Ghana and an attorney of the High Court of Botswana. Quansah has published three books and a number of articles in refereed journals.

The five new senior lecturers are Dr Umoh of the environmental science department, Dr Bruce Bennet of the history department, Dr Girija Singh of the department of chemistry, Dr Lukusa of the department of African languages and literature and Dr Kealotswe of the Department of Theology and Religious Studies.
