Upper East Regional Minister tours BECE centres

Bolgatanga, April 22, GNA - Mr Alhassan Samari, Upper East Regional Minister and Mr Isaac Nsoh Amoah, Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive on Monday visited some Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) centres in the region.

Mr Samari wished the candidates success in their examination but cautioned them against examination malpractices that might jeopardize their future.

Mr Anthony Aziabah, Bolgatanga Municipal Director of Education who conducted the dignitaries round the centres said 2,371 out of the 12,500 candidates in the region were from Bolgatanga Municipality. However, he said 10 of the candidates were absent.

Most of the invigilators Ghana News Agency interviewed said there were no malpractices. Mr James Adonganga, Upper East Examination Officer of West Africa Examinations Council said there were no complains from the eight districts where the BECE were being conducted. Some of the candidates said they wrote the first paper, English Language with much confidence as well as the rest. The BECE ends on Friday.
