Upper West Denkyira DCE deserves a sack and not suspension - Apaak

The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak has called on President Akufo-Addo to sack the Upper West Denkyira District Chief Executive (DCE) instead of the suspension handed him.

The former presidential staffer under the Mahama led administration in a write up said the suspension was menial considering the falsehood he perpetrated against the late Captain Maxwell Mahama.

Dr. Apaak in his statement said the DCE justified the killing of the military captain who was lynched and burnt to death at Diaso on Monday, therefore deserves a sack and not suspension.

The president he stressed must be decisive and do all possible to bring an end to the lawlessness and impunity in the country. Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has justified why he suspended the DCE.

In an audio message, the president described the comments by the DCE as provocative, hence the need for the enquiry. The DCE have been asked to step aside and hand over to the Central Regional Minister until investigations are concluded into the gruesome murder of the late Captain Maxwell Mahama.

“I have had to do something with some considerable reluctance, but which I felt was necessary to do. The District Chief Executive made comments in this matter that appeared to be somewhat provocative. I have taken the decision that he should be suspended pending an inquiry into all circumstances in the matter and the comments that he made,” Nana Addo said.

But responding to the president, Dr. Apaak said: ''Mr. President you must sack the DCE right away!
