Minister of Communications and Digitalization, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has said the launch of her foundation in Accra on Saturday, June 22, 2024 will help transform the lives of beneficiaries in the Ablekuma West constituency.
According to her, the foundation will help them to develop vocational, digital and other practical skills to acquire knowledge to excel in the various sectors of the economy.
Also, there will be access to credit and apprenticeship for persons who will venture into entrepreneurship under the You Push initiative yet to be rolled out.
Speaking at the launch of the Ursula Foundation, the minister said, "Giving something back is a charge that I feel I have to keep and this foundation is my way of also giving back to the community that has natured me and made me who I am today. However, you have to take advantage and make the most of the opportunities that you are given in life...."
"Young people who are willing and also transform their own lives using tools that will be given to them and teaching them that they can do anything they put their minds to if they work hard at it...This foundation is dedicated to serving the good people of Ablekuma West through community development, youth and women empowerment. We want to help them to develop practical skills and acquire knowledge to excel the various sectors of the economy. You don't have to have a government job before you can make it in life," She added.
Ursula Owusu-Ekuful stressed that, "The foundation is not for just NPP people in this constituency, it is for all in Ablekuma West. If you are interested in entrepreneurship as you've been told, You Push, which is one of the initiatives that we will be rolling out will support you and provide you with the assistance that you need to be your own boss, run your own business and hire your own staff and make a difference in your own life. If you want to study, we will seek assistance for you with support through scholarship, training and mentorship."
She entreated organizations to partner with the foundation to train young ones who are poised to add value to their lives in the Ablekuma West constituency.
Also, Board of Trustees would be constituted to supervise the works of workers and volunteers.
